It is a common belief that harsh mid-day lights are the best for infrared landscapes. I tend to disagree. The 'Golden Hour' is good as well, if not better: the wind chills, and the shadows are not that harsh. I had some luck with this one: half an hour ago there was some wind, but as the sun was setting, it chilled. The air was so still, that during the 30 sec. exposure almost nothing moved! Didn't I tell you mÁLOM [link] was just a test? See even more infrared shots here: [link] Nikon D80 - 18-70 @ 18mm - f/6.3 - 30 sec - ISO 125 - Manfrotto 190 PRO B tripod - Manfrotto 484 RC2 ball-head - Cokin P007 infared filter - RAW (NEF) - ACR 3.6 - PS/CS2 Print available now! EDIT 2007.08.16. Thanks you very much to `limetastic for suggesting and to `KevLewis for featuring this humble piece as a DD! This came on a rather lousy day, and I was too busy with Realy Life (TM) to catch up with all the fav-madness. I'm trying to come back to all of you in the weekend. Daily DeviationGiven 2007-08-15The Golden Hour by *DimensionSeven Comment by @limetastic "I really love the pink leaves and the sky reflected in the lake reminds me of a clean sheet of glass. Especially with the water so calm. It's a 30 second exposure and yet the motion isn't really visible in the leaves. This deviant's gallery is pretty much chocked full of amazing landscapes and other nature shots. I'm just a sucker for IR. ;]" (Suggested by `limetastic and Featured by `KevLewis) |

To answer your question.
"EDIT: how come the picture I've uploaded to DA looks much less saturated than the very same file in Photoshop or ACDSee?
Ive noticed the same with mine and I think its because of the jpg conversion. The file type probably has a restricted gamut and spectrum.
Very nice picture
