Me against Nature ID by DimensionSeven Me against Nature ID by DimensionSeven
Print not available, sorry!

2010.08.07, Fonyód, Hungary.

Nikon D80 - Sigma 10-20 @ 13mm - 13 sec - ISO 100 - B+W ND 110 - Cokin P120 - NEF - Capture NX 2.2.4 - PS/CS2

This one won't have a print, as the focus got srewed up: AF was turned off because of the heavy ND filtering, and I must have touched the AF ring by accident while changing square filters and it got frontfocused... Grrrrr, I was reeeally angry at home! But it's okay at this size (it was at f/11 after all), so I thought it would make a decent ID for my Profile page.

From the same set as:

Does it really matter so much @ 13mm and f/11 where you set the focal point? :D

Just set on eternity it should sharpen everything, but the first 3 metres ;)

first of all i really like the overall image concerninc composition, exposition- nd-filtering,etc.
an even with that outfocus in this size it still looks really good. very good idea to make an id like this. i wouldn´t frame it btw
the signature is nice, hm coul´d be a bit more right, but then it would be in the nice vignette.

this post makes me think about my id ;)

nice id mate, looks like an amazing place!

And you-re right about the size, at this size, you can't notice the problem with focusing, it happened to me as well: to move the ring accidentally when I had the NDX400 on :) thank god we're not shooting on film and we have an LCD and we can realize what we did wrong, one stunt like that can ruin a whole day of shooting (almost as bad as forgetting your camera on ISO 1600)

Yup... But this set of few shots got ruined. I have made prev. shots with the same setup, better lights on the foreground, better clouds, but that did not have rain all over the north coast. :(

oh, yeah, it's sometimes bound to happen, but next time you-ll surely be more careful, I'm sure lol, by mistakes we learn the hard way

Hehe, how did you do the Signature then? I always wanted to do something like that. Btw. when I do long exposures it also happens to me a lot that I end up screwing up the AF. Anyway I like the Photo, but still maybe a tad to small.

Do a search on dA with the words "signature tutorial". You'll find a tutorial 'movie' (that even got a DD too) that explains it. It's too complicated, I didn't need dpi stuff, I've left out a few steps.
