infrared is the heat that things give out, so you take photos of the heat from landscapes?

No. Infrared is a wavelenght range between visible light and heat. Heatwaves cannot be recorded by common digital cameras, as the sensors are not senvitive to them.

Látom keresed te is az új perspektívákat:) Szerintem nem lett rossz, őszintén szólva nekem annyira nem jön be itt (se) ez a rószaszínes színvilág. Amúgy meg a szokásos minőség... Itt kifejezettem tetszik a vinyettálás is, jó keretet ad a ké.pnek. A felhők is jó ritmusban követik egymást. Olyan, mintha a fa gondolkodna. Erre az érzésre a szürreális színek késztetnek szerintem. Szóval nem rossz:D

How do you manage to get the right whitebalance... :(

I use a preset custom WB in the camera: it was measured on green grass (on an overcast day). If you're using a non-converted camera, you'll have to have the filter on the lens, using longer shutter speeds.
For finetuning, Capture NX can be used, if needed (mostly not) - so, use NEF! ;)

...can GO as low...

wb=incandescent+3 - that's the problem.
The factory presets are not cold enough. With a custom preset you can as low as 2000 Kelvin. :nod:

soo i should use the PRE wb on overexposed gras with the ir filter mounted?
Reply
:icondimensionseven:
DimensionSeven Featured By Owner May 21, 2009
yep, but you don't need to overexpose it. Use a usual exposure.

De érdekes... a felszántott tábla úgy néz ki ezekben a színekben, mintha tó lenne. :)

Nagyon érdekes, hogy milyen hatást értél el azzal, hogy megdöntötted a fényké.pezőgé.pet... így van értelme több ké.pet csinálni ugyanarról a támáról, ha mindegyik teljesen más világként mutatja meg. :D
