I never said all the series will be done from now on with the converted D50... ;)

See the whole series and even more infrared shots here: [link]

really, really beautiful. Is hard to work with an IR filter, as opposed to a converted body?

It is harder, but not much. It's almost the same as with any long exposures. It needs a sturdy tripod first. Then, it needs a good preset WB (set to green grass on a cloudy day with filter on seems to work best for me). Compose the picture, focus it and then manually frontfocus it a bit (IR-focus shift causes backfocus with most lenses). Switch to manual focus and don't touch that again. Put on the IR filter and switch to manual mode. Set the aperture as desired, but keep in mind that with IR you reach diffraction sooner: f5.6-f7.1 gives the best results with the 18-70 kit lens. After that all you do is chose the proper shutter speed. For best results, I prefer to use the RGB histogram on the LCD for chosing the correct exposure. A slight underexposure (1/3-2/3 steps) is desired to avoid hotspotting, it can easily be levelled up in postproduction. Try it, it's fun!

It's a very, very mad world.

Wow, it's just so great. First I thought it was a photomanipulation, because it's so pretty!

Thanks! It's not a manip, it's just infrared, long exposure and windchill. :)
