Nikon D80 - Sigma 105 f/2.8 @ f/3.5 - 1/125 sec - ISO 100 - NEF - Capture NX 1.2 - PS/CS2

Hyacinthus was a young love of the Greek god Apollo. Apollo accidentally killed him, and from his blood sprang the hyacinth, a plant with a fragrant cluster of flowers.

Alright, long time no submission from me. I was busy with a pediatric conference. This was shot 2 weeks ago while testing my new lens, the Sigma 105 f2.8 Macro EX. This lens is a dream come true. When I came to DA 2-3 years ago and realised what (d)SLRs can do, I knew I have to have this lens once. Now I have it. So you better enjoy it! ;)

I'm starting to really like your photography. Haha. What a beautiful flowers and a magical touch in photoshop I think.. or there is a macro focus?

it was made with a macro lens indeed, but it's not near 1:1. Rather just a close-up with almost open aperture. :nod:

Very beautiful. I love how you focused the flower.
My only complaint - not really a complaint, but I don't know what else to call it - is that it could be a bit brighter so that there's more contrast to the color. Other than that, though, it's wonderful. :]

I love the delicate lighting and the wonderful colours. The background is excellent, showing just enough detail to be interesting but not so much as to be distracting or overpowering. Great work :D
