2013.11.07, Duna Tower and Árpád Bridge, Budapest, Hungary.
Nikon D90-IR - 10-24 @ 11 mm - f/8 - 110,6 sec - iso 200 - B+W 093 - Lee Big Stopper - NEF - Capture NX 2.2.6 - PS/CS6
After the positive outcome of my experiments with the Lee Big Stopper and the B+W 093 (830nm) infrared filters combined, I tried to use this setup for modern buildings. I don't know Budapest too well, so I took inspiration from kgeri and arbebuk - I hereby officially thank them for their tips on locations, esp. for this deviation - arbebuk.deviantart.com/art/bla… .
As for this shot, I have to admit that I almost deleted it after taking it. It was supposed to be only a test shot for judging the needed shutter speed for a proper exposure. It got underexposed ca. 2 stops, which means 3-400 seconds had to be used at base iso. I made the proper exposure then, but later I've realized that the exposure time was too long, it flattened the skies too much, took out the drama. Luckily I was able to save the test shot: +1,5 EV was dialed for the RAW file, then local curves were used to enhance the contrast. The resulting image is noisier than what I'm used to, but it goes with the overall mood well. Again, I've kept the out of camera tones, I like this slight sepia look the white balance gave the photo.

Oh, very nice old friend
So the big stopper filters infrared light too?
I have an B+W 1000x nd filter here, does basically nothing. But the IR-Cut filter from B+W looks promising
